Katholisch Leben: The Jesus Brothers!

Aufbruch und Erneuerung

Catholic Nights with the Jesus Brothers!

Catholic Nights is a private initiative. Robert from the Jesus Brothers, a new Catholic community, invites you to meet on a regular basis in his apartment to spend some good quality time together. Catholic Nights is not only for Catholics. However, you should at least be open to the Christian Faith. Whoever wants to, can come. So please spread the word to people that might be interested!

This is what will be waiting for you:

•    Prayers
•    DVDs
•    Discussions
•    Sharing of personal experiences
•    Snacks & Drinks
•    A warmhearted and welcoming atmosphere
•    Modern Christian music
•    Christian fellowship & socializing
•    Lots of fun & good times!

Our Catholic Faith is not just something we do every now and then when we feel like it and show up at mass, but a 24/7 commitment to Christ. As Catholics, however, we are also known to party, celebrate and have a good time – the Christian way! Our Catholic Faith doesn’t have to be an isolated private thing, nor does it have to be a “duty”, boring or legalistic. There is a time for everything – and at the Catholic Nights I want to make sure people have some good Christian fellowship in a private atmosphere. Christ Himself loved to sit, eat and party with other folks, so it doesn’t take away from our Faith if we do the same, but on the contrary it shows the fire that’s burning within us!

Catholic Nights usually take place on Saturday nights beginning 7 p.m.

Sunday Bible Study

Sunday Bible Study

Sunday Bible Study – in a Catholic Parish? Isn’t that for the Evangelicals? Why would we need a Sunday Bible Study? Sounds like one big bore to me!

The last synod of Catholic bishops was all about the love for the Bible and the need for Catholics to make Scripture study part of their life. And this is exactly what we are going to do.

Sunday Bible Study will help you to learn to get to know your Faith better, as we can only love what we know. It will also provide you with the means and resources to give reason to your Faith – both to yourself and to others. Learn to love – and if necessary defend – the Catholic Faith!

This is what will be waiting for you:

• Prayers
• Bible study
• We’ll work with the Catechism
• Q & A: Ask all those questions you have always wanted to ask!
• Information about useful resources
• Discussions
• Sharing of personal experiences
• Tea/coffee and cookies (cookies only after mass)
• A warmhearted and welcoming atmosphere
• Christian fellowship & socialising

Sunday Bible Study is for each and every English-speaking Catholic. But not exclusively – we especially invite everybody out there that wants to know more about those Catholics. We encourage them to not only get their information through non-Catholic sources, but directly from Catholics who want to share the fire that is burning within them. Go and get the real stuff!

Sunday Bible Study starts every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 10:45 a.m. After having celebrated mass together, we will watch a DVD. You are free to take part in both units or to choose one of them.
The first meeting will be Sunday April 19th, 2009 at the Parish Center.

Works of Love

Works of Love
A Catholic Ministry

Works of Love is an English-speaking Catholic Ministry that reaches out in love to those in need. That need may be a spiritual or emotional one, or related to physical health, old age or otherwise. We are there to help – no matter what your personal background is. We will come to your place and be there for you.

Contact us if you:

  • are interested in the Catholic Faith, but don’t want to go to a parish. We will sit down with you and talk about whatever is on your mind. We’ll pray with and for you, read the Bible with you and explain to you what we believe and why we believe it.
  • are old and/or sick and don’t have anyone to talk to, being unable to leave your apartment.
  • are an inmate in a state prison. We’ll pay you visits on a regular basis, write you letters and be there for you once you get released.
  • are in hospital, in an old people’s home or any other institution.
  • are homeless and feel out of place in a parish.
  • want someone to come to you for any other reason.

Works of Love is a Catholic ministry that wants to reach out to people in need and like that show them what our Catholic Faith is all about. What it means that Christ is the center of our lives and that we all are called to love Him and others with all our heart, mind and soul. We want to honor the Lord and glorify His name by reaching out to others in need. We want other people to be able to see Christ through our Works of Love.

Contact Works of Love if you need us or if you feel called to volunteer and pass on His love.
For this is what this ministry is all about: LOVE – the Christian way.

Of course, all of our services are for free.

Will we hear from you?

Cursillo
